Age Managers: The Heart of Our Nippers Program

Age Managers are dedicated volunteers who play a crucial role in delivering our Nippers program to children aged 5 to 13. They create a fun, safe, and supportive learning environment while nurturing the next generation of surf lifesavers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Program planning: Age Managers use Age Guides as a resource to develop engaging weekly programs.
  • Skill development: They help children build knowledge, skills, and confidence in a surf-safe environment.
  • Uniform representation: Clubs are encouraged to provide Age Managers with branded uniforms to ensure easy identification.

Age Manager uniform requirements

  • Sun safety: Uniforms should adhere to sun safety guidelines, including a broad-brimmed hat, long-sleeve shirt or rash vest, long shorts, and protective sunglasses.
  • Branding: The uniform should clearly display the “Age Manager” designation.
  • Completion of Working with Child Check: The Working with Children Check (WWCC) is arequirement for anyone who works or volunteers in child-related work in NSW. It involves a National Police Check (criminal history record check) and a review of reportable workplace misconduct.
